Hans Peter Porsche, third-generation family member of the founding Porsche family, retired from the supervisory board of the family business on Friday.

He is to be replaced by Sheikh Jassim Bin Abdulaziz Bin Jassim Al-Thani, a representative of Qatar Holdings, the Doha-based investment company that owns a 10% stake in Porsche.

Family member Richard C Gage has been elected to the Carlson board of directors, Carlson chairman Marilyn Carlson Nelson (pictured) has announced.

The election is part of a plan to rotate third-generation Carlson family members on and off the board every three years. Richard replaces his brother, Scott C Gage, who has served on the board since 2006.

The power struggle that emerged last week between family-owned Schaeffler and recently acquired rival Continental has ended as Maria-Elisabeth Schaeffler and her son gain seats on the board.

The power struggle that emerged last week between family-owned Schaeffler and recently acquired rival Continental has ended as Maria-Elisabeth Schaeffler (pictured) and her son gain seats on the board.

Schaeffler had reportedly been unhappy with Continental's supervisory board chairman Hubertus von Grünberg. He has now stepped down from his position, although he will retain a seat on the supervisory board, and put in charge of a newly created business unit for rubber.

With a 27% stake, he is the major shareholder. In his opinion, the management of EasyJet is wrong in its plan to further expand the airline while the number of travellers is going down globally.
